Students engage with an idea using only questions. The facilitator starts the discussion with an open-ended question. Participants then respond with ONLY open-ended questions. Each question should be recorded by a Question Keeper (board, Google doc, sheet of paper). Ideally, every student should contribute. If time allows, the teacher and students can then categorize the questions by common themes for further discussion and debrief.

This is a great way to engage in controversial topics and to generate topics for discussion or papers. Students may want to write down their questions ahead of time.
