Designate a continuum along one side of the classroom. For example, one end of the classroom may represent “Strongly Agree” or “1” and the opposite end may represent “Strongly Disagree” or “10.” Students are given a statement or question. Questions should be ranked response or Likert-type scale. Students line up on the continuum in a space that corresponds to their response, thus creating
a histogram of the class answers. Have students comment on patterns during debrief.

RETURN TO INDEX

Students can anonymously answer the questions on notecards, which are redistributed to the class for the line-up.

  • Top Hat - Click on Target, Likert

Have students share a response to a Likert scale statement using sticky notes on a virtual chart (e.g., Google Slides or Whiteboard). Display class trends, and encourage students to share insights, provide feedback, and engage in a respectful discussion via chat or discussion boards.
