Concept maps are visual representations of relationships between concepts or ideas. Ask students or groups of students to produce a simple, graphic representation or illustration of key concepts. Concept maps can be created with pen and paper, whiteboards, using post-its or using mind/concept mapping software. Concept maps allow students to identify connections that may not otherwise be obvious and prompt them to construct their own knowledge.
