Designate each of the four corners of a classroom as A, B, C, or D. Pose a multiple choice question and have students stand in the corner that represents their answer choice. After students sort themselves, have students discuss with those in their area why they chose that answer. If appropriate, you may challenge them to craft an argument to lure others to their side. Note, the trends and listen in on what students are saying as they discuss.

RETURN TO INDEX

As with Human Histogram, students can answer anonymously, exchange, and/or stand for someone else.

  • MS Teams
  • Top Hat - Multiple Choice
  • Zoom

Create breakout rooms or discussion boards for each option, allowing students to join based on their choice to discuss their reasoning. Debrief by discussing key takeaways with the class or sharing a summary of their responses via a class announcement.

Tip: Provide guiding questions to lend structure and keep students focused.
