Research and Scholarship

The Missouri S&T Office of Sponsored Programs provides expert research support services in a timely and professional manner to faculty, staff, students and research investors involved with sponsored program activities. The University of Missouri Research Board’s mission is to enhance the long-term quality and quantity of scholarship throughout the university by supporting meritorious research projects. An important goal is to provide seed funding for research initiatives with significant potential for high return on investment, in terms of future external funding, student theses and dissertation, publications, presentations, exhibitions, or other figures of merit associated with high-quality scholarship and research.

The Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development (TTED) serves as the focal point for technology commercialization, entrepreneurship, business development, and economic development for Missouri S&T. 

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is an emerging movement of scholarly thought and action that draws on the reciprocal relationship between teaching and learning at the post-secondary level (Boyer, 1990). An important goal of SoTL is to enhance and augment learning amongst and between individual learners by investigating the many features of discipline specific expertise and best pedagogical practice (McKinney, 2006).
